I should say that this could be made from a minimum of 2000m to 3500m. I have also seen players target pillboxes like this. You basically put yourself into a shallow dive, often putting yourself at your bombers max speeds before its wings come off, and make it to the base and turn around before fighters come and eat your alive. Mid Range alitude bombing- I try to steer away from this one. Try to form up with a buddy if you want to do that. You might make it to get alll your bombs out, but you most likely wont live very long after that.

Or, like I said, you can stay at spawn altitude and fly in a straight line. Only a bit slower, due to engines loosing some preformance at high altitudes. But that doesnt mean a determined Do 335 is any less dangerous. So in simpler words, when you climb, you will likely deal with less enemies, and they'll be somewhat easier to handle. Doing this will make it harder for the enemy to not only climb up to you, but most often maintain a decent speed at which they wont get shot down. You can choose to make a bee line to base (and I'll go over flight paths later) Or you can climb off a bit, get some altitude. High Altitude Bombing- This is usually done at pretty much anything at or above long range/heavy bomber spawn in war thunder. These tend to be some of the most strategically important, and frustrating bombers in the game. We'll use ideas that will be best for war thunder, as real life scenarios may not always apply.įirst, lets go over flying long range/heavy bombers. Second, there are multiple strategies to getting where you want to go and actually bombing. For those bombers or attackers, which they are really more of, you can do some amount of fighting, but dont expect to do well and dont loose yourself. Minor exceptions when it comes to aircraft such as the Blenheim or Beaufort or even the B-25 Mitchell. General rule is dont make very sudden movements and dont fly like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and you should be fine. Plan out where you are going before making your move. Bombers like the B-24, where they just really take forever to actually even turn, are tricky. Bombers generally speaking, from the PBY to the famed B-17, handle very slow when it comes to any sort of control, but you still have some degree of pitch authority, but dont abuse it. This section will go over general ideas and methods to flying a bomberįirst, Lets learn how to fly one.
